The West Highland Way

The West Highland Way runs from Milngavie Glasgow to Fort William - from the outskirts of Scotland's largest city to the foot of its highest mountain it follows the shores of its  largest freshwater loch, Loch Lomond . It passes from the lowlands, across the Highland Boundary Fault into the Scottish Highlands.
The most scenic and interesting part of this long distance path is from Loch Lomond to its destination at Fort William. Our walk follows this;  starting at Ardlui on the shores of Loch Lomond we follow the West Highland Way from the loch shore  along the 250 year old track built by General Wade  in his attempt to bring peace to the Highlands. From the Bridge of Orchy we cross the wild Rannoch Moor  to the Kingshouse Hotel an old droving inn. We follow the old road through Glencoe scene of the slaughter of the Clan MacDonalds and cross the Devils Staircase to Kinlochleven. Our last day takes us through the Lairig Mor on to Glen Nevis and down to the sea at Fort William.

North West Scotland, Wester Ross

The combination of mountain and sea make the North West of Scotland a most magical place. This two centred walk will take in the best of both sea and mountain from the rugged shore of Wester Ross to the majestic hills of Torridon and  Flowerdale.
Our walks take us into Britain's last 'Great Wilderness' the vast deer forests of Letterewe and Fisherfield. The Great Wilderness is a Mecca for the walker a priceless reserve for wild life and flora and a fascinating relic of the old Highlands little changed since the retreat of the ice sheet nearly 10,000 years ago.
Wester Ross is one of the finest walking  areas in Scotland. All around spectacular mountains sweep down to a rugged coastline complete with cliff top walks, fishing villages and sandy beaches. In forests, waterfalls cascade through deep gorges on the way to the sea and around the lochs sea birds and the occasional otter can be seen. World famous Inverewe gardens has a host  of sub tropical plants that thrive alongside palm and bamboo.
